The Municipality is one of the partners of the “Pauleta – Azores Soccer Cup U13”. It is an important international cup – promoted by the Pauleta foundation – that brings prestige to Ponta Delgada and the Azores as a region. This initiative invests in the training of the youngsters in the area of soccer, and also divulges the name of São Miguel and of the Azores outside the region.
The international “Pauleta – Azores Soccer Cup U13” Tournament is held every year in June, in the Pauleta’s sports pavilion, and has hundreds of athletes.
