Ponta Delgada’s airport (named after Pope John Paull II) is the main Azorean gateway offering direct flights to the other islands of the archipelago and several European and North-American destinations.

There are regular flights from Lisbon, Madeira, Gran Canaria, Cape Verde, Frankfurt (Germany), Toronto (Canada), Boston and New York (USA).
