Deodato Magalhães

Deodato Chaves de Magalhães Sousa was born on the island of Santa Maria and graduated in Electrical Engineering.

He was the first president of the Azores Electricity Company (EDA). He was also president of the Autonomous Board of Ports of Ponta Delgada and the General Board of the Autonomous District of Ponta Delgada. The creation of larger buildings, namely electric and thermal power stations, substations and network remodeling, and geothermal plan for the Azores, among others, are some of his projects.
