Fish Scales

On one hand, the isolation of the Azorean people; on the other, fishing as a major economic activity and the diversity of fish caught; these two factors, combined with creativity led to the manufacture of decorative works using fish scales.

The scales take on color when washed in tinted waters and are later cut into petals or leaves that form the different types of floral ensembles.
