Chapel of Bom Jesus dos Aflitos – Parish of Fenais da Luz

The Bom Jesus dos Aflitos Chapel keeps alive its religious activity. Located in the parish of the same name, the chapel was enlarged and blessed on July 3, 1960, but was actually built at the end of the eighteenth century.

The last religious temple built in Fenais da Luz has a controversial history: some state that its construction dates back to 1787, by the proclamation of Queen Maria I, some affirm that the original date of construction was between 1756 and 1778, sponsored by the benefactors Manuel Rodrigues and his wife Maria Francisca Alvoredo.
