- Useful Information
The Azores are located in the Northern Hemisphere, in the northeast Atlantic, between 37 ° and 40 ° N and 25 ° and 31 ° W.
The archipelago has a mild climate throughout the year, with a range of average temperature between 14°C and 22°C (57°F to 71,6°F). Meanwhile, the average temperature of the sea water varies between 16°C and 21°C (60,8°F to 69,8°F), becoming even more inviting to swimmers in the summer when it reaches 25°C (77°F).
The incidence of rainfall is higher during the winter and spring months. Showers, even in the hottest months, are possible but it is rare to have rain for long periods of time in the 24 hours of the day. Quite often, it feels as if the 4 seasons can happen in a single day in the Azores, although very fittingly. Thus, the choices are plenty for each day of your itinerary. It is recommended to prefer light clothing laid in layers if necessary. A raincoat and an umbrella are also recommended.
